Atletico Madrid forward, Thomas Lemar has reiterated that he is fine at the club despite rumors linking him with a move away from the club.
The Frenchman has played for the Spanish giants since 2018 but has failed to nail down a starting spot in the team, and in five seasons, he has played 175 games.
Lemar made only 32 appearances last season under Diego Simeone and scored just one goal. He started 17 games in a campaign in which Atletico were knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage, per Transfermarkt.
The club have already signed Javi Galan, Caglar Soyuncu, Santiago Mourino, and Cesar Azpilicueta, all arriving at the beginning of July.
Joao Felix, Atletico's most valuable asset, has been linked with a move away from the club following his controversial comments about wanting to play for rivals Barcelona. The Portuguese youngster is one of the most expensive footballers of all time.
Lemar on his Atletico future
According to Football Espana, the 27-year-old could be forced to move away from the club, especially if Atletico bring in new midfielders. The Frenchman feels he is fine at the club.
“My future? I’m here, aren’t I? I’m here, that’s the only thing I can tell you, and I’m perfectly fine here.”
French giants Olympique Marseille, who have already signed up Geoffrey Kondogbia from Atletico, were linked with Lemar, but a deal has not materialized.
There are a few weeks left in the summer transfer window, and we could see more movements at the club before it closes.
