Football‘We Are Now Better’: Cristiano Ronaldo Delighted With Al Nassr Summer Signings
- Cristiano Ronaldo is happy with the acquisitions made by Al-Nassr this summer
- The Saudi Pro League club have brought in Reuben Neves and others this transfer window
- Al-Nassr finished second behind Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League last season
Cristiano Ronaldo claims Al-Nassr are now better than they were last season when he first joined the club, owing to the quality of talents the club has signed this summer.
Al-Nassr have signed Reuben Neves from Wolves, Seko Fofana from Ligue 1 side Lens, Marcelo Brozovic from Serie A giants Inter Milan, and former Manchester United defender Alex Telles to bolster their squad this season.
Ronaldo, who joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 after terminating his contract with Manchester United, according to Al Jazeera, is fully happy with the business done by his team in the summer transfer window.
"We are now better, not only Fofana but Brozovic, Telles and the upcoming players. We are very happy. Great preparation with the upcoming reinforcements. The staff is very good. The coach puts in new ideas, and the training is different with more intensity."
Al Nassr will aim to go one step better in the 2023/24 season after they missed out on winning the Saudi Pro League last season by five points, finishing as runners-up behind eventual winners Al-Ittihad.
Ronaldo: At Al-Nassr for money?
Meanwhile, former Manchester United forward, Odion Ighalo has accused Cristiano Ronaldo of moving to the Saudi Pro League "for money" as he prepares to begin his second season in the nation, Daily Mirror reports.
Al-Nassr are paying Ronaldo around £173m a year after he joined the Saudi Pro League side in December 2022 when he terminated his contract with Manchester United.
Ighalo claims Ronaldo, like many other footballers joining the Saudi Pro League now, is playing for money and not for passion as they have entered the latter stage of their careers.
