  • Mbappe was dropped from PSG’s squad for their preseason tour after a standoff with the club

Paris Saint-Germain are open to offloading their club captain, Marquinhos, this summer after he apparently angered the club’s management with his comments.

Mbappe has refused to extend his deal with the Parisians and has also refused to negotiate with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal after they tabled a world-record bid for the French forward.

Marquinhos revealed his opinion that PSG need to keep their best players.

According to Get Football, PSG are upset with the comments made by their club captain and are now looking to sell him off this summer once the right bid comes in.

The French giants claim that Marquinhos has failed to lead by example following his comments and believe that the 29-year-old has failed to recapture his best form for the club since the exit of Thomas Tuchel in 2020.

Marquinhos sends message to Mbappe

Meanwhile, Marquinhos has revealed that he hopes Mbappe stays with the team this season after he was dropped from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan, Goal reports.

In a clarion call for Mbappe to remain, the PSG captain said that he believes the reigning French Ligue 1 champions still need their best players around after the exit of Lionel Messi this summer.

Mbappe is a subject of a world-record bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, while Real Madrid are also interested in signing the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner.

Mbappe rejects record Al-Hilal bid

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kylian Mbappe has firmly declined any negotiations with Al-Hilal, making it clear that he is committed to his chosen path for the future, despite a highly tempting bid from the Saudi club.

Al-Hilal sent shockwaves through the football world by putting forward a staggering €300 million offer to Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit of Mbappe.

The proposed deal entails a one-year contract for the French football star, which includes an eye-watering salary of €700 million.
