  • Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0 in a pre-season friendly game in the United States
  • Debuting United goalkeeper, Andre Onana was beaten by chip and bicycle kick goals
  • There was a reunion of former Madrid players, Casemiro and Raphael Varane with their former mates

Real Madrid got the better of Manchester United in a pre-season friendly in the United States, and it provided an avenue for Casemiro and Raphael Varane to reunite with their former teammates.

The France international defender moved to Manchester in the summer of 2021, while the Brazilian midfielder joined last summer, and both have contributed to breaking the trophy drought at Old Trafford.

English midfielder, Jude Bellingham got the opening goal for the Spanish giants with a chip over debuting United goalkeeper Andre Onana in the sixth minute before striker Joselu scored an audacious bicycle kick in the 89th minute.

One of the high moments of the game was a square-off between Bellingham and Lisandro Martinez after the Argentine launched a bad tackle on the Madrid midfielder, similar to the one he landed on Bukayo Saka against Arsenal.

Casemiro reunites with former mates

Casemiro was on the pitch for 62 minutes and was one of United's best players before he made way for young defender, Brandon Williams.

As captured in a video shared on Twitter by Madridismo Siempre, he shared a moment with his former midfield partners, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, after the game, with boss Carlo Ancelotti joining the trio.

The trio is highly regarded as one of the best midfield groups in football after they helped Los Blancos to an impressive five UEFA Champions League trophies, including three consecutive championships from 2016 to 2018.

The Brazilian sealed a £70m move to the Premier League last summer, as reported by Sky Sports, while the veterans recently extended their contracts at Real Madrid by another season until the summer of 2024, which could be their last.

Rival fans troll Onana

Sports Brief reported that rival fans trolled Andre Onana for conceding two ridiculous goals on his Manchester United debut against Madrid.

Onana was impressive throughout the game, but conceding a chip and bicycle kick goal on your debut certainly calls for mockery from rival fans, some of whom extended the mockery to former goalkeeper, David De Gea.
