Kaizer Motaung wants Amakhosi supporters to give Molefi Ntseki a fair shot.
The former Bafana Bafana interim manager was appointed Kaizer Chiefs’ new head coach, replacing Arthur Zwane.
Fans were sceptical about the appointment, especially given that Ntseki has never managed a club side, but Motaung has come out in support of the decision.
As noted by Times LIVE, the Amakhosi boss called on supporters to give the new head coach a chance as he tried to turn the club’s fortunes around.
The Soweto giants finished fifth in the DStv Premiership last season and lost a club-record 12 games in the league, Soccer Laduma reported.
“The coach needs to be given a chance to do his job. As you are aware, when the announcement of Ntseki’s redeployment to the first team was made, there were many mixed feelings from many people. It is easy to criticise, but you can only criticise something that has gone through the test,” Motaung said.
He also wants Ntseki to be given the opportunity to do his job.
“We will see whether we can criticise or anything like that after some time. It is unfortunate that because of social media today, people are at liberty to say anything, anyhow and anywhere,” he added.
His son, Kaizer Motaung Junior, also echoed those sentiments.
Ntseki has only been in charge of the team for one game thus far, in which Tanzania’s Young Africans narrowly beat the South African side, Goal reported.
Ntseki appointed new Chiefs manager
Kaizer Chiefs have appointed a new manager to take charge of the side effective immediately, but it’s not the name everyone was expecting, Sports Brief reported.
The Soweto-based club has appointed Ntseki to replace Arthur Zwane as manager, with 10111 returning to an assistant coaching role with Dillon Sheppard.
