Now, the former World Number 1 has taken her love for the Argentine a nudge higher with her latest post on Twitter.

Azarenka's hilarious Messi selfie

Azarenka had a pitch-side seat and was present at Inter Miami’s 4-0 Leagues Cup win over Atlanta United. She shared a hilarious photo of herself and Messi.

In the photo she posted on Twitter, the caption caught the attention of many.

The two-time grand slam winner captioned the photo:

My selfie with Messi 😂
My face 🙈
anywhere closer than that I would probably/most likely cry 😂

Hilarious reactions have since trolled the 33-year-old's post.

Messi’s first Inter Miami start

In his inaugural match for Miami, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner showcased his brilliance by delivering a sensational last-minute free-kick, securing a 2-1 triumph over Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

Following an outstanding 4-0 victory against Atlanta United yesterday, Inter Miami advanced to the Leagues Cup knockout stages. During the match, the Argentine maestro was in fine form, eyeing a hat-trick before being substituted in the 78th minute.

It appears Inter Miami fans can expect exciting days ahead of them judging by Messi’s performances so far.

The Florida-based club are also reported by Goal to be in the running to sign Messi’s former strike partner, Luis Suarez. A deal to transfer Suarez to the MLS may appear a little difficult, however, given that the forward only recently joined Brazilian club Gremio.

Messi comforts DJ Khaled's son

Sports Brief also reported on Messi comforting DJ Khaled's son before Tuesday’s match against Atlanta United.

The little boy cried as he stood in front of the former Barcelona star.

The Inter Miami forward made sure the young boy was okay, checking in on him as the music mogul watched from the sidelines.
