Real Madrid’s latest signing, Arda Guler is giving the club’s authorities headaches with his injury after failing to recover in time for their next preseason game against Manchester United.
The 18-year-old Turkish midfielder dubbed the ‘Little Messi’ signed for Los Blancos this summer from Fenerbahçe but has failed to make his first appearance for the Spanish giants.
According to Tribuna, Guler picked up a knock in his first session in the United States and has so far missed every session ever since, including the preseason warm-up game against AC Milan.
The young Real Madrid midfielder is now certain to miss the clash against the Red Devils as the club’s fans wait patiently for the young lad to make his debut for the team.
Real Madrid are very confident about Guler’s potential, but the 18-year-old might not be ready to compete for a starting role due to his injury problems.
Guler’s absence precautionary says Madrid
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have insisted Arda Guler’s absence in the club’s forthcoming preseason friendly against Manchester United is only precautionary, 90MIN reports.
Los Blancos have decided to rest their latest recruit, as the Turkish midfielder is currently feeling discomfort in his right leg following a knock he suffered in training.
Guler is also not expected to make his Real Madrid debut in the El Clasico against Barcelona but might feature in their final preseason friendly game against Juventus.
