Banyana Banyana and Desiree Ellis are attracting much attention at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The South African side have caught the eye of many with their passion on and off the field, and even an Arsenal legend has taken notice.
Gunners’ great, Ian Wright, recently took to social media to wish Ellis and Banyana all the best for their next game against Argentina.
The former footballer added a photo of him with the coach and a video of their meeting.
In the video, Wright can be seen embracing Ellis and even though she says, ‘Even though I am not an Arsenal fan’, he takes it in good spirits.
The Englishman made 269 appearances for the Gunners and scored 168 goals during that time.
Ellis’ Banyana will next take on the Argentinian side, with hope teams looking to register their first points of the tournament.
Argentina were beaten 1-0 by Italy, while South Africa conceded a late goal to lose to Sweden 2-1, IOL reported.
The South Africans showed great heart during the game and even took the lead for a period thanks to a Hildah Magaia goal in the first half.

Sports Brief reported on Magaia giving South Africans a reason to celebrate. Banyana's striker grabbed their second-ever goal in the FIFA Women's World Cup when she netted against Sweden.
The reigning Women's Africa Cup of Nations Champions took on the number-three-ranked side in the world in their opening game of the tournament and showed tremendous passion and team spirit.

South Africa's female team have been given a huge boost ahead of their FIFA Women's World Cup opener.
Banyana held an open training session ahead of their opening game against Sweden, and received the cutest, Sports Brief reported.
The South African side shared photos and videos of the turnout as many youngsters, in particular, came out to watch them play.
