Manchester United have been handed a reality check following their 3-1 hammering by lower-tier side Wrexham in a pre-season friendly clash played on Wednesday morning, July 26, at Snapdragon Stadium.
United were hoping to build on their moment from their recent 2-0 encouraging win against rivals Arsenal.
However, Erik ten Hag's charges were unable to see off the Ryan Reynolds-owned club, who were recently promoted to the League Two.
The Dutchman named a relatively weaker team, with the United boss settling for youngsters for the clash.

Man United silenced by Wrexham
Wrexham had a bright start to the match, with Elliot Lee opening the scoring in the 29th minute of the match before Aaron Hayden doubled the lead seven minutes later.
While the Red Devils were fortunate to halve the deficit through Marc Jurado on the brink of half-time, they were unlucky to go one man down shortly after Daniel Gore was red-carded shortly after the break.
Efforts by United to restore parity proved futile, with their numerical deficiency seeing them concede a third goal in the 69th minute of the match.
Man United will now shift their focus to their upcoming friendly clash against Real Madrid on Thursday.
