  • Paris Saint-Germain must pay Kylian Mbappe €60 million if they fail to sell him this summer
  • PSG have put up the France forward up for sale this summer after his refusal to renew his contract
  • Real Madrid and Saudi club Al-Hilal are linked with a move for Mbappe this transfer window

Paris Saint-Germain’s failure to offload Kylian Mbappe before August 1 will come at a huge financial cost for the reining Ligue 1 champions due to a unique clause in his last contract.

The 24-year-old forward renewed his contract for two more years with the Parisians last summer and has declined to extend it, with just one year left on the deal.

According to Goal, Mbappe will be due to get a loyalty bonus amounting to €60 million from PSG if he remains at the Ligue 1 club until August 1. This is a clause that PSG do not want to be triggered.

The club has reportedly accepted a world-record bid of €300 million for the wantaway France international from Al-Hilal and has given Mbappe the greenlight to speak to the Saudi Pro League club.

Real Madrid are also very interested in signing the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner, but are willing to wait until he becomes a free agent when his contract with PSG expires next summer.

Madrid hatch Mbappe transfer plan

Meanwhile, Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has reportedly devised a strategy to get a €30 million discount on Mbappe when he is ultimately sold, Football Transfers reports.

Mbappe's asking price is now considered to be about €150m, but Los Blancos have been told that around mid-August, PSG will reduce the player’s value to €120m.

Perez’s plan is quite simply to be patient and wait for the clock to run down to get a good bargain for Mbappe that will ultimately be cost-saving for Real Madrid.

Al-Hilal’s offer to Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mbappe is set to earn a whopping €700 million per year if the French forward agrees to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Saudi Arabian outfit has tendered a world-record bid of €300 million to Paris Saint-Germain for the 24-year-old forward, who is reluctant to renew his deal with the Parisians.

Al-Hilal has also inserted a fascinating clause in the deal that will allow Mbappe to leave the Saudi club for free after just one year to complete his dream move to Real Madrid.
