Last season, Nuamah proved his prowess with 15 goals and four assists in 34 matches across all competitions.

In the match against Viborg played on Monday, July 24, the Ghana international led Nordsjaelland's resurgence with two first-half goals and completed his hat-trick in the second half.

Swedish forward, Benjamin Nygren, who came in as a substitute for Nuamah, continued from where the Ghanaian left off with the fourth goal to seal the win for the home side.

Nuamah inspires comeback win

Viborg managed to break the deadlock early on through Sondergaard, but Nordsjaelland's teenage prodigy, Nuamah swiftly responded, equalizing just before the half-hour mark.

He then showcased his skills in the box with a vintage goal, expertly set up by his Ghanaian compatriot, Ibrahim Osman, right before halftime.

The 19-year-old, whose talents have captured the attention of French champions PSG, rounded off his impressive performance with a top-notch goal, securing a hard-earned victory on the Danish top-flight's opening day.

Nuamah's rise to prominence

Hailing from the renowned Ghanaian academy Right to Dream, which has nurtured talents like Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and Southampton's Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest has been on a meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene.

His outstanding 2022-23 season earned him three individual awards: Young Player of the Year, Best Player for Spring (voted by coaches), and Player of the Season (voted by players), per Ghanasoccernet.

As a testament to his rapid progress, he recently made his senior national team debut, coming on as a substitute in Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar in Antananarivo last month, Citi Sports reports.

He was also part of the Ghana team at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he scored one goal in three games.

Nuamah's Golden Boy Award nomination

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nuamah has been nominated for the 2023 Golden Boy Award.

The 19-year-old has been included in the list of 100 best young players in the world for the award that is presented to the most outstanding U21 player.

Nuamah will be competing with new Real Madrid signing, Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich's youngster, Jamal Musiala for the top award.
