FootballMbappe: Real Madrid President Reacts to PSG Forward's Transfer Saga
- Kylian Mbappe appears certain to be on the move this summer
- The PSG star has been placed on the transfer table by his club
- Florentino Perez was recently asked about Mbappe's situation
Kylian Mbappe's imminent Paris Saint-Germain exit has kept a host of football clubs across the globe on high alert. It has been reported the French giants have received in excess of five offers for the super-talented forward
Real Madrid, who appears to be the striker’s preferred destination, have remained silent on the events and happenings around the forward so far.
Recently, club president Florentino Perez was asked about the 24-year-old and he gave a somewhat nonchalant response, which appeared to be deja vu for many fans.
It was a similar response to when he was asked about the signing of then-Barcelona captain, Luis Figo, in the summer of 2001.
Florentino Perez speaks on Mbappe
As reported by Football Espana, the Real Madrid president, who was out to exercise his franchise in the recently concluded Spanish election, spoke with the media.
In what was certainly an unmissable question from the press, he was asked about the Spanish club’s progress on securing the signature of Mbappe.
The Real Madrid president then replied, per La Sexta: "I am always calm."
He uttered similar words around 12 years earlier, a few days before the club completed the blockbuster signing of Figo from the club's fiercest rivals.
Meanwhile, PSG has opted to exclude Mbappe from their travelling squad for the pre-season tour of Japan this month, as they look for a resolution over his future in the French capital.
The star forward has remained firm on his refusal to sign a contract extension until 2025, with his club likely preparing to sell him next month to avoid losing him as a free agent next year.
