  • Kai Havertz is settling into life in North London after making the switch from Chelsea
  • Arsenal paid £67.5m to their rivals to sign the versatile attacker
  • He already has friends in the team and wishes one of them was his compatriot

Kai Havertz may not have hit the ground running on the pitch, but he is settling well within the Arsenal squad and has already made friends with some of his teammates.

Havertz spent three years at Chelsea before switching across London to team up with last season's Premier League runner-up, becoming another star to play for both clubs.

The Athletic reported that Arsenal parted with £67.5m for a player who had two years left on his Stamford Bridge contract and was signed for £72m in the summer of 2020.

The fans' initial reaction was skeptical, and his first few appearances for the team suggested they could be right as he had looked a bit out of pace, especially in the 2-0 loss to Manchester United.

Havertz wishes Saka were German

His struggles on the pitch have not stopped him from integrating into the squad. He already had a familiar face in former teammate Jorginho, who joined the Gunners in January.

In a sit-down chat with Bukayo Saka on ESPN UK, he proved he had already studied his new teammates and picked one he would like to have in the German national team.

"Which of our teammates do you wish was German?" Saka asked.
"Maybe you, then we can play together in the national team," Havertz responded.

The English star smiled and told him they were already mates at club side and will play together.

Arteta assesses Havertz's first game

Sports Brief reported that Arteta assessed Havertz's first game for Arsenal in the 1-1 draw against Nuremberg in Germany and left fans displeased at his comments.

The primary concern of most fans when he was signed was his versatility and lack of a definite position, a problem which has struck in just three outings for the club.

The boss asked for time for the player to adapt, but fans think he should already have it figured out for that fee.
