Manchester City have set a new record in English football following their 3-1 win over Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-finals as they reach the semis.

Goals by Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus were enough to hand the Citizens their 15th straight win in all competitions.

Although debutant Morgan Whittaker pulled one back for Swansea, it doesn’t stop Pep Guardiola’s side from setting a new record for most consecutive wins by an English club.

Manchester City have now surpassed Preston which had 14 consecutive wins during the 1891-1892 season as well as the Arsenal team of 1987-1988 season which also managed 14 straight wins.

Consequently, City maintain their quadruple chase as they remain in contention in all competitions.

But the Premier League table-toppers Manchester City have recorded the most negative net transfer spending among the top five European Leagues in the last 10 years.

The six-time English league champions are said to have spent a staggering €1 billion on signings but could only recoup €375m - meaning they lost a sum of €631m in the period under review.

Manchester United are behind their City rivals both on the EPL table and the list of teams who have lost more money on the continent.

Barcelona are next after the Manchester clubs with a deficit of €471m after spending €1711 billion and realised €700 million in return.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan complete the top five with both European clubs losing €455m and €386m respectively.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Antonio Conte and Juventus President Andrea Agnelli got involved in a row during their Coppa Italia clash against Inter Milan.

The Biaconeri made it through into the finals following a 2-1 aggregate scoreline after playing a 0-0 draw at the Allianz Stadium.

The match did not go unnoticed without heated exchanges between Conte and his former employer Agnelli.

The Juve president worked with the former Chelsea boss for three years and they lifted the Scudetto between 2011 and 2014. But after Conte's departure, their relationship went sour and the Coppa Italia game was their latest reunion.
