  • Cristiano Ronaldo is among the few footballers who have achieved so much in their careers
  • The Portuguese has won almost every available trophy to lift after successful spells with Real Madrid, Man United, and Juventus
  • Despite his accomplishments, Brazilian icon, Ronaldo, once overlooked him in his list of players he regards as the GOATs

Brazilian football legend Ronaldo once snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo while naming his eight greatest players of all time.

Cristiano, alongside his football nemesis Lionel Messi have dominated the football scene in recent years.

The duo's dominance, longevity, and accomplishments have seen them widely recognised as two of the greatest footballers of modern-day football.

Messi and Cristiano have won an impressive 12 Ballon d'Or awards between them, with the former having seven to his name.

On his part, Cristiano has won five, thanks to his illustrious career with top clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo snubs Cristiano from GOAT list

Despite the Manchester United player's achievements, Sportbible reports that Ronaldo had no place for him while giving his list of the eight greatest players of all time.

Instead, the former Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Real Madrid superstar picked the likes of Messi, Diego Maradona, and Pele, who he hailed as a 'very, very special group' of players.

"I think there is a very, very special group where you have Diego, Messi, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Pele, Van Basten, Ronaldinho. I would include myself. Let the fans say, let them debate it in the bars. But you can’t rank them, can’t compare generations," the former Brazil international told The Guardian.
"People call me Original Ronaldo but, bloody hell, there were others - and they weren’t false. I’m not the only one and more will come along and be better than me, in everything," he added.

Drogba ends GOAT debate

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Didier Drogba is among a number of top-tier footballers who previously delved into the ever-divisive Cristiano Ronaldo versus Lionel Messi debate.

The argument over which of the two football superstars is the greatest of all time has consistently divided many across the spectrum.

The so-called GOAT debate has lasted for more than a decade now, with Ronaldo and Messi dominating the football space during the period.
