Manchester United vs Arsenal pre-season clash was more than a friendly meeting as the two Premier League sides renewed their rivalry in the United States.

According to The Mirror, two first-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho were enough to earn the Red Devils the bragging rights.

The publication reports that two glaring mistakes by the Gunners led to the two goals, with Fernandes opening the scoring from the edge of the box after a massive blunder from Aaron Ramsdale in the Arsenal goal.

Gabriel Magalhaes went on to misjudge a long ball to allow Jadon Sancho to race free and fire a well-taken finish beyond Ramsdale to double the advantage.

Beyond the goals, another on-pitch moment involving players from both teams became a major talking point.

Sportbible reports that Martinez was largely responsible for the melee after producing a crunching tackle on Bukayo Saka.

The tough-tackling Argentinian went flying in and folded Saka in half, much to the displeasure of Martin Odegaard.

Odeegard went on to confront the United defender and gave him a shove to voice before players from both sides, including Mason Mount, got involved.

Why Onana did not play vs Arsenal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported details have finally emerged on why Manchester United summer signing Andre Onana did not make his debut for the club against Arsenal.

United locked horns against the Gunners in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 22, during the two clubs' ongoing tour of the US.

Onana was expected to make his bow for the Red Devils during the clash, having recently linked up with the squad after he completed his Old Trafford move.
