Atletico Madrid's unsettled forward, Joao Felix, was caught on camera engaged in a seemingly intense exchange with fellow teammate Thomas Lemar.
Felix's situation at Atletico has soured significantly, as manager Diego Simeone made it evident that the young star is no longer considered a part of his plans since the previous season.
The Portuguese sensation joined the Madrid-based club in 2019 after securing a club-record £111 million transfer from Benfica.
Following a loan spell at Chelsea, where an agreement of £10 million was reached, Felix has been on the hunt for a new permanent destination, the Sun reports.
Despite spending the second half of last season at Chelsea, new manager Mauricio Pochettino decided against signing him permanently. Since then, tensions appear to escalate as the 23-year-old was caught in a heated exchange with Lemar during pre-season training.
In front of their teammates, a video shared on social media shows Felix throwing a towel at the attacking midfielder, hinting at the growing tension between the two players.
Lemar quickly caught the towel mid-air and engaged in a heated verbal exchange with the Portuguese ace.
Not to be outdone, Lemar retaliated by throwing the towel back at Felix, taking advantage of the ex-Chelsea player's momentary distraction.
However, in a surprising twist, Felix anticipated the move and swiftly ducked, skillfully avoiding any direct impact, as the unbelievable scene drew to a close. The tension on the training ground reached an unexpected peak as both players showed their competitive spirit and emotions came to the fore.
