The Amakhosi took on Young Africans SC in a pre-season friendly in Dar es Salaam but were beaten 1-0 by the Tanzanian side.

Kennedy Musonda scored the game’s only goal late in the first half, and what a beauty it was.

Musonda found himself in acres of space at the edge of the Chiefs’ box and brilliantly chipped an onrushing Itumeleng Khune.

Chiefs appealed for offside, believing that Musonda set off early, but the goal stood, and it was all Yanga needed to win.

While the defeat came in Ntseki’s first game in charge of the Soweto-based side, it also allowed him to experiment with his squad and give the new signings a game.

As noted by Times LIVE, Chiefs were without Keagan Dolly, Ashley Du Preez, Wandile Duba and new signing Ranga Chivaviro through injury concerns, but six of their new recruits did get a chance to play.

Chiefs' new signings feature

Given Msimango, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edson Castillo, Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdatsane, and Pule Mmodi were the other new signings who got to debut for the Amakhosi.

Chiefs aren’t the only South African side in pre-season action against opponents out of the country. Orlando Pirates recently concluded their pre-season tour, winning two of their three games and drawing one.

DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns were also in action as they drew 2-2 with Belgian side KAA Gent, The South African reported.

Fans celebrate Pirates’ unbeaten run

Orlando Pirates’ supporters are on cloud nine right now.

The Soweto-based side notched up another win during their pre-season friendlies, and fans can’t stop raving about the side.

The Buccaneers beat Independiente del Valle 3-1 in their second game, and fans are thrilled with the performances by the team, Sports Brief reported.
