Kylian Mbappe would reportedly favour shock move to Arsenal amidst saga with PSG
FootballMbappe: PSG Star to Sit Out the Entirety of Next Season Amidst Contract Standoff
- Kylian Mbappe's future remains unsettled at French club PSG
- The forward has recently been excluded from the club’s pre-season tour
- The PSG star is rumoured to be ready to sit out the entirety of next season amidst contract standoff
Kylian Mbappe stunned the footballing world in June when he sent a letter to the PSG hierarchy stating clear his stance on extending his current contract.
Mbappe's current deal with PSG expires in 2024 and PSG have insisted the forward must extend or be sold this summer.
PSG are believed to be on a trajectory that would see only players committed to the club for the nearest future be a part of the team. And with the future of the forward unsettled, the club recently made a decision to leave out the forward from its preseason squad tour.
Mbappe’s reaction to PSG’s exclusion
According to reports from SkySports Mbappe's immediate reaction to this decision is that he is ready to sit on the bench and not play at PSG until his contract runs out next summer.
It is believed the forward would be entitled to pick up huge wages and bonus in excess of £100 million if he remains at the French capital beyond the current summer.
PSG are convinced Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, a move that is viewed as a huge betrayal after he said he would never leave for free.
Quite amusing is this decision to many as being France captain and with the Euros coming up next summer does not alter his decision.
Mbappe is willing to dig his heels in and sacrifice a season and there is nothing PSG can do about it. He is ready to call their bluff and see who blinks first.
Kylian Mbappe holds PSG hierarchy responsible for Champions League setbacks
FootballAnother report from Football Espana has stated the forward has a verbal agreement with Spanish giant Real Madrid ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window.
The PSG board are with intent to resound the statement that no player is above the club and are ready to go any length to make this statement clear.
Mbappe 'not bigger' than PSG
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has reportedly clarified the club's position regarding the ongoing transfer saga involving Kylian Mbappe.
During the presentation of Luis Enrique as the Ligue 1 champions' new coach on Wednesday, Al-Khelaifi issued an ultimatum to Mbappe as the contract saga continues.
Underscoring the gravity of the situation involving Mbappe, Al-Khelaifi emphasised that no player holds greater importance than the club itself.
