- The World Cup winner has been linked with a move to MLS Club Inter Miami
- Iniesta’s camp have recently spoken about the 39-year-old’s chances of playing in the MLS
Andres Iniesta recently departed Japanese outfit Vissel Kobe in the middle of the team's season this summer after making just four J-League appearances in his sixth and final campaign for the club.
The World Cup winner during his farewell made clear his desire to continue his career elsewhere, hence ending speculations about a potential retirement for him.
Despite being 39, the former Barcelona man has seen speculations rise about a move to MLS side Inter Miami, being on the card for him. A move that would see him reunite with former Barcelona teammates: Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and midfield partner Sergio Busquets.
Iniesta’s camp has since come to clear the air on this transfer speculation.
Iniesta on his immediate future
During a press conference in May, Iniesta was quizzed about his future and was reported by The Mirror to have said:
"I have to tell you the truth, I don't know.
"I want to keep playing football. I feel like I am capable of still playing. But as this chapter closes, we'll see what's possible.
I want to finish my career on the pitch playing, and this is what I'm hoping to do."
This has been followed by recent reports from sources close to Iniesta. According to Spanish media outlet SPORT, a deal for the veteran midfielder is not on the table as things stand.
Though it appears a matter of time before Inter Miami chiefs send across their offer for the former Barcelona man.
The plan of Vice City co-owners David Beckham and Jorge Mas is to create a dream team at DRV PNK Stadium spearheaded by seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.
