Roberto Firmino couldn't ask for a better debut for his new team Al-Ahli. The Saudi Pro League side demolished Austrian second-tier side USV Stuhlfelden 18-0 in a pre-season friendly. The former Liverpool star bagged two goals in the encounter.

This scoreline comes days after Bayern Munich demolished ninth-tier outfit Rottach-Egern 27-0 in a pre-season friendly.

The Brazilian started up front, scoring the opening goal just five minutes into the contest. He scored his second after 14 minutes.

The game was practically over after Al Ahli went into half-time leading 10-0. The Saudi Pro League side made 11 changes, with both Firmino and former Chelsea Goalkeeper Mendy departing. However, the onslaught did not stop as they scored eight more goals.

Mourad Khudari scored five goals in the second half, per Al Ahli, as they capped off a phenomenal win.

In March, the Brazilian forward revealed he was going to depart Liverpool when his contract ends. He spent eight successful years with the Merseyside club, winning seven titles with Liverpool, among them the Champions League in the 2018/19 season and the Premier League title a year later.

He made 362 appearances for the Reds and scored 111 goals whilst providing 79 assists, per Transfermarkt.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Firmino’s mum could not hold back the tears after she was shown a video of Liverpool fans chanting the Brazilian striker’s name.

Firmino will officially leave Liverpool at the end of this month when his contract expires, having spent eight successful years at the club.

He formed an essential trio with Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah and Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane and helped the club win their first Premier League title in 30 years.
