Paris Saint-Germain are set to make a U-turn on their decision to offload Kylian Mbappe this summer and are ready to battle Real Madrid to retain the wantaway Frenchman.
The Ligue 1 champions had handed Mbappe, who is out of contract at the end of the season, a deadline of July 31st to either extend his contract with the Parisians or be sold this summer.
According to Football Transfers, PSG are ready to offer Mbappe a “mega contract” that has already been given the green light by the Emir of Qatar, who ultimately oversees the business of the club’s owners, QSI.
This new contract would be worth a whopping € 1 billion, and the Frenchman would sign a contract that would virtually bind him to PSG for the rest of his career, with a 10 or 11-year deal indicated.
Mbappe, only last season signed a mega deal with the club that ensured the striker is paid €70m per year as his gross annual salary while he also has large bonus payments included in the deal, including an €80m bonus payment this summer.
Mbappe included in PSG preseason squad
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has been included in Paris Saint-Germain’s preseason squad despite the uncertainties surrounding the Frenchman’s future at the club, Get Football reports.
The club’s new summer signings Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour and Milan Skriniar have also been included in the squad while Neymar misses out.
PSG will face newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Le Havre at their brand-new Campus training centre at Poissy this Friday for their first pre-season game under new manager Luis Enrique.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported amid the prevailing uncertainty surrounding his future, Kylian Mbappe has joined his Paris Saint-Germain teammates for the first time this preseason.
The 2018 World Cup winner has recently been in disagreement with the PSG hierarchy, expressing his dissatisfaction through interviews and a formal letter.
While Mbappe has affirmed his intention to remain with the Ligue 1 champions for the upcoming season, rumours linking him with a potential move to Real Madrid persist.
