Samuel Eto'o who is the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation has posted a cryptic message on social media after the former Barcelona striker was accused of involving in match-fixing in his country.
Fixing matches is a serious offense under the law governing football and FIFA, CAF and other authorities have warned soccer people not to engage in it.
Months back, Nigerian coach Salisu Yusuf was caught on video taking bribes for him to fix a match and also picking a player for a tournament and he was banned for two years.
According to the report on Khelnow, Eto's was alleged to have been involved in match-fixing after promising to promote a club to the first division in Cameroon.
In audio recordings from January 2023, Eto'o allegedly says: “Opopo must go up to the first division. This is our goal. This is our Federation. Victoria United will go up."
Several months later, Vitoria United, who were at the bottom of the table, got promoted after Stade de Bertoua, who was second in the league, was declared a general withdrawal by Fécafoot.

Eto'o's daughter wants him jailed
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Samuel Eto'o, is potentially facing legal consequences for allegedly refusing to provide his daughter - Erika de Rosario Nieves - with a monthly allowance of €1,400 for the past five years.
Eto'o, who currently serves as the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), was legally recognised as the biological father of Nieves (now 24 years old) by a Madrid court last February.
