Arsenal's forwards, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, shared their earnest desire to meet the renowned Al-Nassr superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Prior to their pre-season tour in the United States, the duo, who are looking forward to building on Arsenal's impressive second-place finish in the previous Premier League season, engaged in a light-hearted chat.

Havertz, the first signing of Mikel Arteta this summer, faced some criticism after a lacklustre performance against FC Nurnberg and in the MLS Skills Challenge, as reported by talkSPORT.

Havertz, Saka star for Arsenal

However, according to Sky Sports, the German swiftly bounced back, showcasing his talent with a spectacular volley in Arsenal's resounding 5-0 victory against the MLS All-Stars team, led by former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

Saka, on the other hand, played a vital role in setting up Arsenal's opening goal, scored by Gabriel Jesus, as both he and Havertz began their US tour on a high note.

Ronaldo confession

Even before the match (against the MLS All-Star team), the pair openly expressed their longing to meet Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner currently shining in Saudi Arabia.

During a playful Question and Answer session, Saka asked Havertz which sports personality, from the past or present, he would most like to meet.

Without hesitation, Havertz mentioned Cristiano, and Saka himself admitted his sincere desire to have the opportunity to meet and converse with CR7.

Arsenal rout MLS All-Star team

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Declan Rice made his Arsenal debut, and Kai Havertz scored his first goal for the Gunners as Mikel Arteta's side hammered the Major League Soccer All-Star team 5-0 in a friendly at Audi Field on Wednesday.

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea last month, was brought on after half-time and grabbed the fifth goal in the 89th minute.

Ronaldo belittles MLS

Sports Brief also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the Saudi Pro League surpasses the MLS in quality and stated unequivocally that he harbours no intentions of playing in the United States.

In the wake of Lionel Messi's grand introduction as Major League Soccer's star attraction, Ronaldo took the opportunity to publicly undermine the league's calibre and affirm his dedication to elevating the Saudi Pro League into a premier global competition.
