Cristiano Ronaldo has made his feelings clear about a possible return to European football.
The football icon's long streak playing in Europe came to an end during the January transfer window after his acrimonious exit from Manchester United.
Ronaldo was axed by the Red Devils with months left on his contract following his controversial interview with British journalist Piers Morgan in the run-up to the 2022 World Cup.
At the time, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner openly aimed a dig at the United top brass, including Erik ten Hag, who he accused of disrespecting him.
The veteran forward's abrupt Old Trafford exit saw him linked with a number of top European clubs, including Napoli and a return to Real Madrid.
However, the Portuguese eventually moved to Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr, where he penned a multi-million deal per Sporting News.
Will Ronaldo return to Europe?
The Real Madrid icon was recently put to task about the potential of playing in Europe at some point in his career.
Incredibly, the ex-Juve ace ruled out such a move, claiming European football has lost its quality.
“I won’t return to European football, the door is completely closed," Ronaldo said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“I’m 38 years old, also European football has lost lot of quality… only valid one is Premier League, they’re way ahead of all the other leagues.”
He added: “I’m 100% sure I won’t return to any European club. I opened the way to Saudi league… and now all the players are coming here," he added.
