Andre Onana has finally sealed his much-anticipated summer move to Manchester United.

The Cameroonian shotstopper has been a top transfer target for the Red Devils, especially after it became apparent David de Gea would leave.

De Gea recently brought to an end his 12-year spell at Old Trafford, leaving United with no choice but to find a formidable replacement.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League giants have been pursuing Onana for weeks now, with the keeper initially making clear his intention to reunite with Erik ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.

Onana seals Man United move

And after weeks of waiting, United fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the 27-year-old sealed his move to the club.

The transfer was officially confirmed on Thursday evening, July 20, by Manchester United, who disclosed the goalkeeper had penned a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

"Andre Onana has joined Manchester United on a contract running until June 2028, with the option of a further year, subject to international clearance," a statement by the club said.

It is understood that forked out £47.2million to land the former Ajax star from Inter Milan.

The deal reportedly includes an initial fee of €51m plus €4m in potential add-ons, depending on the performance of Onana and Man United.

The arrival of the Cameroonian spells doom for Dean Henderson, who recently returned to Old Trafford after the expiry of his loan deal.
