Embattled French star, Benjamin Mendy seems to be preparing for a return to action after he was recently spotted enjoying a local kickabout days after he was cleared of sexual abuse charges.
Mendy has not played competitive football for close to two years now, with his last appearance for Manchester City coming in August 2021.
According to The Sun, the France international has since been battling legal challenges, which culminated in him getting cleared by a jury at Chester Crown Court last Friday.
The publication reports that the 28-year-old celebrated his new-found freedom with his pals by going out.
On Sunday, he turned up at the Pitts complex in Ardwick, Manchester, for a kickabout with strangers, with the football ace spotted wearing Man City colours at the time.
Mendy's football future
The defender's latest engagement came at a time when it is still unknown where he will be playing next as he plots his return to action.
Mendy was rendered clubless after City released him at the end of June following the expiry of his contract with the club.
Manchester Evening News reports that his clearance by the court notwithstanding, it remains unclear what the future holds for him in terms of his football career.
Be that as it may, he has already been linked with a possible switch to Saudi Arabia to reignite his career.
Mendy joined City for £52 million from Monaco in 2017.
