FootballEx Madrid Star Claims Top Football Director ‘Grabbed Him by the Neck’, Forcing Him to Leave Sevilla
- Isco has launched a scathing attack on Spanish football director Monchi
- The ex-Real Madrid playmaker has been on the lookout for a club for the past seven months since his acrimonious departure from Sevilla
- He only mustered 19 games for Sevilla, scoring one and notching up three assists
Former Real Madrid star Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez, also known as Isco, has stirred headlines with shocking allegations directed at the esteemed Spanish football director Monchi.
Isco claims that he was assaulted by Monchi, a disturbing incident that prompted him to sever his ties with Sevilla.
The 31-year-old, who bid farewell to his nine-year stint with Los Blancos in June 2022, initially joined Sevilla on a promising two-year contract during the summer transfer window.
Unfortunately, the Spanish playmaker's time at the Andalusian club was short-lived, as he departed after just four months following a dispute with the then sporting director, Monchi.
According to GOAL, since parting ways with Sevilla, Isco has been without a club, eagerly seeking a new opportunity in the ongoing transfer market.
He recently opened up about the circumstances that led to his departure from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
The 31-year-old candidly stated that Monchi, who is now the president of football operations at Premier League side Aston Villa, physically "assaulted" him during a heated argument in the club's offices last year.
“Monchi said I wanted to leave. He pestered my lawyer every day to sign the termination without even telling me," Isco told MARCA, as quoted by Football Tweet.
In a candid revelation, the midfielder went as far as labelling Monchi as the 'biggest liar I've met,' as he detailed the events that unfolded between him and the esteemed football director.
"I told him he was the most lying person I have ever met in football, and he assaulted me. He came towards me, grabbed me by the neck, we pulled away, and they had to separate us. After that, I wanted to leave.”

FootballSevilla part ways with Isco
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sevilla officially announced the departure of midfielder Isco, with both parties mutually agreeing to terminate his contract in less than five months.
The Spanish midfielder joined Sevilla with the hope of reigniting his career after being on the fringes at Real Madrid in recent seasons.
Regrettably, Isco's time at Sevilla saw him score just one goal in 19 appearances. Furthermore, since the arrival of head coach Jorge Sampaoli in October, his playing time has significantly dwindled, presenting him with limited opportunities on the field.
