Arsenal football club found themselves in the line of fire on social media after launching their away kit for the 2023/24 season.
The Gunners will be hoping to mount another title challenge in the upcoming season, especially after their long-term target Declan Rice's arrival.
However, they will have to do so in a controversial away kit launched on Tuesday, July 18.
Mikel Arteta and his team are gearing up for a pre-season tour in the United States, but before jetting off, several of their stars modelled their new kit, as seen in a video shared by the club on Twitter.
For the 2023/24 season, Arsenal opted for the yellow shirt with horizontal stripes across the top half.
Towards the bottom of the shirt, the stripes take a sharp bend, giving the kit a unique look.
In a video released by the club, several Arsenal stars including Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and captain Martin Odegaard are seen rocking the shirt, but fans were far from impressed.
Fan reaction
Last season, Arsenal opted for a pink look, which was largely successful thanks to how it was received by fans.
But things appear to be different this time around if fan reaction to their new away kit is anything to go By.
Sports Brief samples some of the comments from fans who spotted the new shirts:
“Cringe worth kit ever.” One fan said.
“My team! What’s this” Another added.
“Can't waste my money to buy a reflector jacket.”
