Cristiano Ronaldo is facing backlash from football fans online following Al Nassr’s humiliating defeat to Celta Vigo in their pre-season friendly game on Monday, July 17.
The Saudi Pro League side were hammered 5-0 by the La Liga side, with Ronaldo playing 45 minutes of the match, while Marcelo Brozovic made his debut for Al Nassr.
According to Sportskeeda, Ronaldo and Brozovic were both subbed off early in the second half, which opened the floodgates as the Saudi Pro League side conceded five goals with the forward on the bench.
Gael Alonso got the opener just before the hour mark before Miguel Rodriguez and Jorgen Strand Larsen nabbed braces to ensure it was a five-goal thrashing without reply.
Al Nassr will hope to get a better result when they file out in their next pre-season game against Portugal side Benfica on Thursday.
Fans reaction to Al Nassr’s defeat
Meanwhile, fans have now taken a jibe at Ronaldo following his comments about the Saudi Pro League being better than the MLS immediately after Al Nassr’s 5-0 loss to Celta Vigo.

“Ronaldo’s Al Nassr drinking 5 goals from Celta Vigo. I promise Bofoakwa Tano FC sef go lash Al Nassr with no stress.”
An Argentina fan page also took a shot at Ronaldo after Al Nassr’s embarrassing defeat.
More fans also took a swipe at the Al Nassr team for their loss.
