Israel Adesanya has waded into the never-ending Ghana vs. Nigeria Jollof war, adding his voice to the fiery culinary discourse and sharing his opinion on this enduring debate.

Similar to the Ronaldo vs. Messi GOAT debate in football, the ongoing argument about which country makes the best Jollof dish continues to divide West African nations.

Adding his voice to the discussion, the Mixed Martial Artist, who has Nigerian roots, unreservedly favoured his home nation over Ghana in the culinary rivalry.

Adesanya, who reclaimed his UFC Middleweight title a couple of months ago, went on to reveal that he had savoured various Ghanaian dishes, including Waakye, Banku, and the much-debated Jollof, during his short stay in Abeka Lapaz, a suburb of Accra, the Ghanaian capital.

His revelation adds another layer to the ongoing debate about the superior jollof between the two West African nations.

Aside from airing his opinion in the Jollof discussion, the 33-year-old was recently spotted training with Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg alongside UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, per MMA Junkie.

Bukayo Saka chooses Ghana Jollof

On the contrary, Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah has revealed that his teammate of Nigerian descent, Bukayo Saka prefers Ghanaian Jollof, Sports Brief reported.

Nketiah, who was born in England to Ghanaian parents, shared his love for the popular dish as he spoke about how he used to enjoy it with his teammates.

Despite Bukayo Saka's Nigerian heritage and his recent visit to Nigeria, many believed he would favour Nigerian Jollof over its Ghanaian counterpart.

However, in a video that surfaced on social media, Nketiah revealed that Saka actually prefers Ghanaian jollof.

Adesanya misses out on award

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that four UFC fighters have been nominated for an award in the upcoming Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly (ESPY) awards, but Israel Adesanya is not one of them.

The Last Stylebender was hoping to be nominated for the Best Comeback Athlete but will have to watch a rival possibly claim that title.

Not only was The Last Stylebender hoping to be nominated for Best Comeback, but he was also hoping to be named in the Best UFC Fighter category.
