Nigerian singer Portable was in the heat of an energetic performance during the final of the Naija Super 8 when pitch invaders made attempts to reach him.

Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, joined music stars Seyi Vibes and Pheelz at the event held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Sunday evening.

The venue had an electric atmosphere as the newly promoted NPFL side Sporting Lagos defeated Remo Stars to clinch the title during the preseason tournament.

Sporting defeated Remo Stars 4-2 via penalty shootout following a dramatic 1-1 draw in normal time, Complete Sports reports.

But at half time of the encounter, Portable was introduced to the crowd, who vibed to some of the singer’s popular songs.

And while the controversial artiste continued with his ‘weird’ kind of performance, running all over the pitch, some fans jumped onto the pitch in their attempts to touch him.

One met him face-to-face and jumped on the singer before security operatives took him away.

Fans have also taken to social media to react. One said:

“You must be fit to work for Portable. Energy por I'm a Babooooooooon.”

Another added:

“If you no like portable, I no fit like you.”

A fan wrote:

“The body guards be working overtime.”

Sports Brief earlier reported that Portable thrilled football fans at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Match Day 1 of the Naija Super 8.

The ‘Zazuu’ crooner earlier delivered an energetic performance during half-time of the tournament's opening match involving Enyimba and Remo Stars.

He performed some of his trending songs, including Zazuu Zeh and Apostoli, as he was practically mobbed by fans, who made frantic efforts to take selfies with him. He kept screaming: "wahala wahala wahala. I'm a baboon, I live in the zoo. Zazuuu."
