FootballCarlo Ancelotti: Brazil Legend Clears Air on Appointment of Italian Tactician
- Carlo Ancelotti's immediate future as a coach remains unsettled ahead of the new season
- The Italian veteran's current deal with Real Madrid is set to run out at the end of the term
- The highly successful manager is rumoured to be taking over as Brazilian national coach
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, saw his future become a subject of intense debate throughout the 2022/23 season.
While some of the speculation was based on whether the Spanish giants would sack the Italian coach after Los Blancos failed to claim the La Liga or Champions League titles, the story then changed.
New reports then suggested Ancelotti was being eyed as the new national manager for Brazil's Selecao, following the resignation of Tite after a disappointing World Cup campaign in Qatar.
Though the country has appointed Fluminense manager, Fernando Diniz, as the interim coach, it is the words of CBF President, Ednaldo Rodrigues, which have caused a stir recently.
According to a report by Marca, the football federation boss stated there was an agreement for Ancelotti to take over in June next year once his Real Madrid contract expires.
Carlos on Ancelotti coaching Brazil
The Real Madrid coach has so far remained silent on these rumours. Despite many questions, the Los Blancos gaffer has stated he is happy at the Spanish club and does not know what the future holds.
However, the rumour mill has once again been stirred up by the club's ambassador and former Brazil defender, Roberto Carlos, who aired his views on the Ancelotti situation.
As quoted by Marca, the two-time World Cup winner said:
"He had already said that he has his mind on Real Madrid, I don’t understand why that story of the coach has come out with the Brazilian team. I find it difficult to imagine that he has signed two contracts," Carlos stated.
