Widely regarded as one of the greatest left-backs in football history, the Real Madrid legend exhibited his brilliance by executing a stunning skill that left his opponent, Luiz Araujo, astounded, per Manager Tactical.

Marcelo destroys opponent

Despite being closed down by two Flamengo players, the 35-year-old calmly nutmegged one of his markers, skillfully evading the pressure.

Unfortunately, his remarkable display of skill was met with a brutal foul from Araujo, resulting in a foul being given and a subsequent red card for the former Atlanta United player.

Despite the incident, Fluminense managed to hold their rivals to a goalless scoreline. According to Transfermarkt, Marcelo has featured in seven matches in the Brazilian top flight so far.

Marcelo returns to boyhood club

Marcelo received a heroic reception from more than 30,000 Fluminense fans during his unveiling at the iconic Maracanã Stadium.

Returning to his homeland in February, the former Real Madrid left-back left Olympiakos in Greece, where he had made just 10 appearances, to join the Brazilian club on a two-year contract.

Now back in familiar territory, Marcelo proudly wears the number 12 jersey, the same one he sported during his time at Los Blancos. Although primarily known as a left-back, the versatile player is expected to feature in a midfield role for Fluminense.

Marcelo nets golazo

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Real Madrid legend Marcelo Vieira is finally up and running after he scored a screamer for Fluminese in the final of the Campeonato Carioca.

Marcelo lifted the stadium's roof with a sensational strike from outside the box at the half-hour mark.

The trophy marks Marcelo's first silverware with his boyhood club in just his second outing for the Rio de Janeiro-based team.
