Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has become the fourth-best paid manager in the world following his big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
Gerrard has been out of job for close to a year after he was sacked at Aston Villa back in October 2022.
According to Sky Sports, the former midfielder was shown the door at Villa Park after a disastrous run of results that had seen the club record six defeats in 11 Premier League outings.
However, the Englishman is back in the dugout after he recently landed a lucrative deal with Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.
It is understood that Gerrard is set to bank an eyewatering £15.2 million per year at the club, making him the fourth highest-earning manager in the world.
Who are the most paid managers?
The Mirror reports that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone remains the best-paid manager in world football despite a few lucrative moves in recent years.
The Argentine has enjoyed plenty of success with the Spanish capital since he took charge in 2011.
Simeone has won two La Liga titles with Atletico, the Copa del Rey, and two Europa League trophies and has led the side to two Champions League finals.
The former player is understood to be pocketing around £30m per year, which translates to around £2.5m per month.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is placed second on the highest earners charts, with the Spaniard banking around £20m per year at Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Max Allegri of Juventus complete the top five podium.
