- Manchester City has identified Bayern Munich’s defender as a replacement for the departing Walker
UEFA Champions League winners Manchester City looks to have found their perfect replacement for Kyle Walker after the England full-back agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich.
The English champions in what is surely a surprising turn of events have identified Bayern Munich’s French World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard as the ideal man to replace Walker.
Latest reports from Goal have stated Pavard could join Man City as the German giants look to seal a deal for Kyle Walker.
The English full-back who only has one year left on his current deal was initially expected to snub Bayern Munich after City offered him a two-year extension to continue at the Etihad.
However, the 33-year-old is understood to have been impressed with the persistence Bayern have shown in signing him and is reported to have held between his representatives and the Bundesliga club.
Man City eyes Pavard
With Bayern keen on signing Walker, City are reported by the Mirror to have slapped a £20m for Walker despite him only having a year left on his contract.
However, reports have suggested that Bayern could look to offer Pavard to City as part of a swap deal for Walker.
The 27-year-old World Cup winner has made it clear to the Bayern hierarchy that he would fancy an exit from the Allianz Arena.
It appears Man City have deemed the versatile Frenchman as an ideal replacement for Walker, given his ability to play both at right-back and the heart of the defence.
