  • David Beckham has revealed two things Jude Bellingham should pay attention to in order to excel in Spain
  • Bellingham joined Real Madrid in a deal worth £88.5 million
  • He will proudly don the No.5 shirt, following in the footsteps of the legendary Zinedine Zidane

David Beckham has highlighted two key areas of focus for Jude Bellingham to excel in Spain following his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid.

In a groundbreaking deal worth £88.5 million, potentially rising to £115 million, Bellingham made the switch from Dortmund to the Spanish giants, setting a new record for the highest transfer fee paid for a British player.

Joining the ranks of Michael Owen, Jonathan Woodgate, and David Beckham himself, Bellingham becomes the fourth Englishman to grace the field for Los Blancos.

As Madrid aims to rejuvenate their ageing midfield, the 19-year-old has been touted as a potential successor to the esteemed Croatian icon, Luka Modric.

To reach the same heights achieved by the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, Beckham has emphasized the importance of Bellingham learning Spanish to immerse himself and enjoy his tenure in Madrid fully.

“Advice for Jude Bellingham? Learn the language, enjoy it," the Inter Miami co-owner said as quoted by MadridXtra.
"Get to know your teammates and have fun. It’s Real Madrid.”

Bellingham begins Spanish lessons

Bellingham, Real Madrid's second-most expensive signing in history, has started using a learning app, aiming to build on the vocabulary he got at school.

“I have got it on my phone, I’ve got a good little streak going at the minute,” he added. “It’s nine days since I started taking it properly seriously, he said as quoted by Planet Sport.
“It is one of those things where you hear it and you start to pick up little things and you see it on TV with interviews of other players, so it comes a bit more naturally than you think.

The 19-year-old expressed his belief that learning Spanish is comparatively easier than learning German.

“It is a lot easier than trying to learn German, at least. I did Spanish at school up to year 9, obviously, in hindsight, I would have carried it on.”

Beckham's stint with Real Madrid

The legendary English footballer joined Los Blancos in 2003, amassing an impressive record of 155 appearances, 20 goals, and an impressive 59 assists.

During his tenure at Real Madrid, Beckham also secured two significant trophies: the Supercopa de España in 2003 and La Liga in 2007, according to Transfermarkt.

Beckham sends goodwill message to Bellingham

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Jude Bellingham has revealed he received a good luck message from former Real Madrid man David Beckham after completing his switch to the Bernabeu.

The 20-year-old became just the seventh British player to join Real Madrid following his € 103 million euros (£88.5m) move from Borussia Dortmund last month, following in the footsteps of the likes of Beckham, Gareth Bale and Michael Owen.
