FootballEx Man United Forward Set for EPL Return With Newly Promoted Side
- Tahith Chong left the Premier League last summer after he departed Man United for Birmingham City
- However, the Dutch winger is in line to make a return with newly-promoted Luton Town
- Chong spent close to seven years with United before he was shipped out
Former Manchester United wonderkid Tahith Chong is in line to make a return to the Premier League this summer.
Chong left the English top flight last summer to join Birmingham City in a £1.5million transfer deal.
However, he now looks set to return after just a season away, with The Sun claiming he is closing in on a move to newly-promoted side Luton.
Luton were promoted to the EPL for the first time after they beat Coventry City on penalties in the Championship playoff final.
The Hatters have since embarked on an elaborate plan to strengthen their squad to help them compete favourably at the top level.
Chong closing in on Luton move
It is understood that Chong is among the players on Luton's transfer wishlist, with the Birmingham ace inching closer to a move.
According to Sky Sports, Luton will pay £4million for the services of the 23-year-old Dutchman.
United are in line to receive around £1m from the transfer thanks to a sell-on clause included in his Birmingham contract.
Chong spent close to seven years at Old Trafford, having joined them from Feyenoord in 2016.
However, he had to wait until after two years before he could make his senior debut for the Red Devils.
He was subsequently loaned out three times in two seasons before he was sold permanently after he failed to make the grade at the Theatre of Dreams.
