Former Super Eagles captain Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has landed in Ivory Coast alongside other African football legends for the CAF Ordinary General Meeting and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying draw.

Since he retired from playing football, Okocha has been touring the world for many sporting activities and the former Bolton star was recently tipped to become a Sports Minister in Nigeria.

During his active days on the pitch, Okocha was among the most prominent African footballers, especially his dribbling styles and ways of scoring free kicks.

Who are the other legends?

According to the reports on Twitter and Pulse, Elhadji Diouf, Adebayor, Okocha, Alex Song, Wael Gomaa, Njitap, Houssine Kharja, Gyan, Eboue, Ouattara, Bonaventure Kalou, Didier Zokora are the other former African footballers in already in Ivory Coast.

Okocha makes huge claims

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian football legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha suggested that he would be worth around €150million in the transfer market today.

In 1996, the incredible master-dribbler moved from German club Eintracht Frankfurt to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce for a fee of around £1m after the German outfits were relegated from topflight football.

Okocha became a household name following his impressive performances with the Turkish club and after the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, the midfielder was snapped up by French club Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 outfit signed the superstar for an African transfer record fee of £14million. However, in a recent chat with Hurriyet as per Punch, Okocha believes he would have cost around €150m by the current transfer market.
