  • The midfielder moved from Chelsea to Old Trafford in a deal worth £60 million recently
  • Fans have already noticed a weakness in Mount's game in his first 45 minutes of action

Fans have already noticed a flaw in Mason Mount's game in just his first minutes of action for Manchester United against Leeds United.

United's first pre-season game against the relegated Premier League side was played in Norway before the Red Devils headed out to the United States for their full tour before the new term stars.

As Sports Brief reported, Erik ten Hag named Mount as a starter in the number 10 role for his first game in red, with his competitive debut expected to come when they face Wolves in their first game of the season on August 14.

He lasted only 45 minutes before academy player, Isal Hansen Aaroen, replaced him. It is worth noting the whole team was replaced with a new look XI for the second half.

Fans poke fun at Mount

Mount was the team's best player in the first half, with some great passes and a big chance created. The former Derby loanee also got a chance to score but dinked the goalkeeper from outside the box.

He did have some poor moments where he volleyed a shot high over the bar from the edge of the box, the clips of which have been gaining traction on Twitter.

In fairness, most of the negative reactions have been from Blues fans, who are still bitter about his departure.

Chelsea fans had expressed rage after a video of him and his dad from the Old Trafford dressing room emerged, and his reaction suggested happiness at his new environment.

However, there were genuine concerns over his set piece delivery, which was indeed not good enough, but he may be off that duty once Bruno Fernandes returns to the team.

Mount imitates Ronaldo’s kick technique

Sports Brief also reported that Mount is a Ronaldo fanboy, and he spoke about how he modelled his free kick technique after the veteran from his days at Cobham Academy.

The Portuguese five-time Ballon d’Or winner is one of football’s greatest influencers. With his lifestyle and goal celebrations, he is a model for colleagues and young players.
