Youngster, Kobbie Mainoo impressed Manchester United fans after training footage of the 18-year-old emerged online.
Erik ten Hag showed his intent in giving the younger players a chance to train with the first team, with Mainoo taking advantage of the opportunity.
In the clip, Mainoo embarks on a training drill that involves him getting a pass and attempting to have a go at the more experienced midfielder, Fred.
One instance shows Mainoo successfully turning Fred, using his quick feet and physicality to get the better of the more established Brazilian, as seen in the clip shared by @UtdDistrict on Twitter.
As reported on SportBible, in a second instance, the youngster holds his opponent at a distance and creates space with a killer pass to an attacker.
Mainoo has some experience in first-team football, having debuted in January 2023 in a game against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup.
His league debut came against Leicester City several weeks later, in a game which United comfortably won 3-0.
Can Mainoo thrive next season?
While his talent is undeniable, Mainoo will find stiff competition in Manchester United’s midfield next season, especially with the arrival of Mason Mount.
He will, however, be hoping to leave a lasting impression on his manager as United prepare for a pre-season tour in America, where they will face Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund.
