As Kylian Mbappe continues his tour of Cameroon, the Paris Saint-Germain striker is moving around his father's homeland with a heavy security detail and even armoured vehicles.

The Frenchman is currently touring the African country as he continues his vacation before pre-season activities.

Footage currently circulating on social media has shown platoons of security forces and fleets of vehicles transporting the World Cup-winner around town.

Cameroon's State Security Service officials - complete with an armoured personnel carrier (APC) - joined police operatives in Mbappe's convoy.

It was the French star's first time in his fatherland. The striker was born in a suburb of Paris, France, 24 years ago.

As Sports Brief previously reported, Mbappe was given a hero's welcome when he touched down in the Cameroonian capital of Yaounde on July 6.

Cameroon Concord News reports that about 100 traditional dancers performed in his honour. The footballer waved to the crowd from a distance before being whisked away in an SUV with tinted windows.

The presence of such high-level security detail for Mbappe has elicited a number of reactions from fans, with some commenting about the 'misuse' of resources and others hailing the Frenchman for bringing his fame to Cameroon.

A number of activities have been lined up for the star, including touring a school for the deaf and hearing impaired. It is believed the facility, located in the capital, was refurbished with funds from his charity Inspired By KM.

The footballer will also reportedly feature in a basketball match and then a football game with second-division side, Vent d’Etoudi FC, which is owned by former tennis star, Yannick Noah. This was reported by Get Football News France.
