The Brazil National Football team have been without a manager since Tite resigned after the Selecao were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but are set to appoint Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The country's president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is unconvinced about the choice of the Italian who has achieved plenty in Europe.

Brazilian Football Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues recently revealed Ancelotti will lead Brazil to Copa America in June 2024.

Fernando Diniz will be the team's interim manager for a year while he still keeps his role with club side Fluminense. Under-20 coach Ramon Menezes has coached the national team since, per BBC.

Da Silva is unconvinced about Ancelotti

The president is not sure if the Italian manager can lead Brazil since he has not coached the Italian team who missed the 2022 World Cup.

"He was never coach of Italy. Why doesn't he solve the problem of Italy, which didn't even play in the last [2022] World Cup?" via ESPN.

Ancelotti has coached some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain. He is the only coach to win the UEFA Champions League four times.

Da Silva wants Ancelotti to save his Corinthians first.

"It's very easy to lead a team in Europe with 11 national team players. It's hard to get here and get [relegation-threatened] Corinthians. I want to see if Ancelotti would fix Corinthians. My Corinthians are suffering a lot."

The five-time World Cup winners have not had a foreign manager since 1965. He coaches Brazil internationals Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo at Madrid.
