Rave-of-the-moment Nigerian singer Portable thrilled football fans at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, venue of the ongoing Naija Super 8.

The ‘Zazuu’ crooner delivered an energetic performance during half-time of the opening match of the tournament involving Enyimba and Remo Stars.

As soon as the match referee signalled for the break, Portable ran onto the pitch asking security officials to take him to the spot he was meant to perform.

However, in a swift, the singer who has coined the moniker ‘wahala’ for himself found his way into the stands, taking fans by storm.

He performed some of his trending songs, including Zazuu Zeh and Apostoli, as he was practically mobbed by fans, who made frantic efforts to take selfies with him. He kept screaming..."wahala wahala wahala. I'm a baboon, I live in the zoo. Zazuuu."

Enyimba 1-2 Remo Stars

Meanwhile, Remo Stars began the tournament on a bright note defeating league champions Enyimba 2-1.

New signing Isaac James opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after he rifled the ball into the back of the net to give his side the lead.

It took just four minutes before the Peoples Elephants restored parity courtesy of a fine finish by Chisom Okereke.

Ogunribigbe Seun restored Remo Stars' lead with a tap-in from close range in the 58th minute as the Ikenne boys held on to take the three points.

After the game, Enyimba coach Finidi George said via ThisDay:

"This is an off-season competition. These boys have not rested. It showed today. I'm happy with my players, despite the loss.
“Traveling here makes it more difficult for us, compared to where Remo Stars came from. I'm not complaining, Remo Stars have also had the kind of season we had. We want to win every game as sportsmen.”
