  • Arsenal have completed the signing of Kai Havertz and are set to add Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber
  • Rice is set to come in for a club record of £105 million, which will take their summer spend to over £200 million
  • Mikel Arteta has been advised that it is not over, and he should look at a vital position in the attack

Arsenal are moving strongly in this summer's transfer market as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title again next season. Still, they have been advised that they need another signing in a vital position.

The Gunners capitulated close to the end of last season and ceded an eight-point advantage to eventual Champions Manchester City, majorly due to injuries and lack of squad depth.

They have moved quickly in the market to fill the crucial areas where they suffered last season, and with their involvement in the UEFA Champions League next season, they need quality.

Kai Havertz became Arsenal's first signing last week after the German bid farewell to Chelsea even before the two clubs made the £67.5 million move official. Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are set to follow.

Ferdinand issues advice to Arteta

Arsenal may have accrued over £200m in signings, but former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand thinks that there's one more area left to cover for Arteta's men to have a squad ready for next season.

"I still think maybe you need one more, an attacking player, to cover those positions, especially the wide areas," he said on his Vibe with Five podcast. "Kai Havertz maybe could dovetail out there at times, but I think you still need one. I think you can’t afford to let Bukayo Saka play another full season not missing any games.
"He may have missed one or two here and there, but he played too many games last season for a young kid, he’s going to burn out. I think you need to save him a little bit and have moments where you pull him out of the team, and there won’t be a big drop-off in output."

Saka featured in all 38 games last season, making it two consecutive seasons in which he has done that. Arsenal could look inwards towards Fabio Vieira or Nicolas Pepe as backup.

Former Gunner, Emmanuel Petit agrees with Ferdinand after claiming that spending huge money won't immediately help the team close the gap on Pep Guardiola's squad.

Morgan wants Osimhen at Arsenal

Sports Brief reported that British broadcaster and celebrity Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan told Arsenal to sign Victor Osimhen as a striker who can offer enough goals to compete.

Morgan doubled down on his claims after a video emerged of Osimhen scoring a golazo while playing football with friends during his holiday in Lagos, Nigeria.
