  • Nigerian international Paul Onuachu could be leaving Southampton this summer
  • The Super Eagles striker was unable to save the club from relegation last season
  • Onuachu is now said to have told his agent to find another club for this in the summer transfer

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has reportedly ordered his agent to get him out of England after his debut season in the Premier League ended in a disappointing fashion with Southampton relegated.

The Nigerian strongman was signed in the January 2023 transfer window with the target of him helping Southampton to get the goals, but he struggled all through.

In fact, Paul Onuachu was unable to score any goal for his club in which questions were raised among football fans in Nigeria and many parts of the world.

The 29-year-old was netting goals with ease in the Belgian League which was the main reason Southampton rolled out millions to sign him.

They have however started their pre-season ahead of their campaign next term in the Championship.

Onuachu not interested in Championship

According to the reports on Sun and Score Nigeria, Onuachu does not want to play in the English Championship and wants his agent to work things out for him this summer.

Onuachu's lack of form also made Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro not to invite him for the last African Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Sierra Leone.

Paul Onuachu scores four goals

Previously, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu scored all four goals for Genk as they defeated Sporting Charleroi 4-1 in a crucial Belgian Pro League encounter.

The Nigerian international opened his account in the game from the penalty spot and then completed his brace before halftime.

The 28-year-old then found the back of the net again in the 71st minute before scoring a fourth in stoppage time.

Onuachu has now made history as the first Genk player to score four goals in a single game since 2003.

The Super Eagles striker moved to the top of the goal scorers’ chart with 12 goals.
