Nigerian Heavyweight Efe Ajagba Suffers First Career Defeat, gets Knocked Down

Efe Ajagba was taught boxing lessons against Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Vanguard, Boxing Scene.

The Nigerian heavyweight and the Cuban put their undefeated streak on the line but Sanchez got the better of Ajagba.

The fight was an undercard in the Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III and it did not really give what the fans were expecting as it became one-sided.

Sanchez won all three judges scorecards and even floored the Nigerian in the seventh round of the contest but Ajagba got up before the 10 count.

Summary of the fight

Ajagba was not given the opportunity to land his favourite right hand in the fight by the Cuban who was more experienced by keeping him at arm's length.

Sanchez sent a crushing right blow to Ajagba's face 30 seconds to the end of the fight but he managed to complete the round.

The Nigerian did not go down without a fight as the best exchange came in the 10th round, when Ajagba landed a right and Sanchez connected with a left almost simultaneously.

Fury wins trilogy fight with Wilder, retains WBC heavyweight title

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Tyson Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title via a knockout victory in his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.

The fight experienced five knocked downs with the Gypsy King getting three to the Bronze Bomber's two in three separate rounds respectively.

The Gypsy King landed significant punches in the opening two rounds but Wilder stood his ground as he tried to get into position to hit Fury.

Fury scored a third-round knocked down as the Bronze Bomber got back on the feet and was saved by the bell.

Wilder reveals his African costume for Fury fight also reported that Deontay Wilder will wear a more customary costume when he walks to the ring to face Tyson Fury for the third time, The Sun.

The Bronze Bomber complained about the previous costume he wore during his loss to the Gypsy King last year, claiming the garment was heavy on him.

The American-born Nigerian who hails from Edo state in the western part of the country has revealed that he would wear a gown relative to his culture back in Africa.
