English giants, Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus following the signing of Mason Mount.
The Red Devils announced the capture of the Chelsea midfielder on Wednesday on a long-term deal.
The record English champions were reportedly interested in Kudus after his outstanding display for Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars attacking midfielder also enjoyed a good season in the Netherlands with Dutch giants Ajax, where he scored 18 goals and provided seven assists.
According to Manchester Evening News, Kudus' agent had revealed that the player was available in the summer transfer window. This could have led to a potential reunion with former coach Erik ten Hag.
However, with the signing of Mount completed, United have now switched their attention to a forward with Harry Kane top of their list.
This means Brighton and Hove Albion now lead the race for the services of the versatile midfielder.
Kudus has two years left on his current deal with Ajax but efforts to extend his stay with the Dutch club have proven futile, as reported by CitiSports.
