As noted by SABC Sport, 16V revealed that he received disrespectful text messages from a member of SAFA’s NEC after sharing his thoughts about the drama between SAFA and the women’s team.

Khumalo explained that NEC member Monde Montshiwa sent him a message saying that SAFA didn’t owe him (Khumalo) a cent and didn’t even offer him a job.

“The unfortunate part is that it was a personal attack, but he forgot that the NEC members there are just there occupying the space because this is a South African entity.
“Any individual in this country is allowed to eco anything regarding football. The sad thing is that he exposed that NEC members don't know anything about local football, he has exposed that. I was just minding my business and he's busy swearing at me," the legend explained.

What Khumalo said about SAFA?

Khumalo was critical of the stand-off between Banyana and SAFA, labelling it as a disgrace. He explained his disappointment, considering how much he did for the country as a player.

The former national team legend also explained that he recently met with the women’s team to offer support, as he experienced a similar thing with SAFA while he was a Bafana Bafana player.

While he agreed that Danny Jordaan, the association's president should be held accountable, he further admitted that it wasn’t only him who should be blamed for the problems.

“This man is a SAFA president, but we can't point the finger at Danny; it's the entire NEC," he concluded.

Banyana stars initially denied entry

The standoff between Banyana Banyana and the South Africa Football Association continues.

The Women’s national team were due to play Botswana in their send-off game before the FIFA World Cup but were replaced by a side put together by SAFA after they threatened to boycott the fixture, Sports Brief reported.

With the makeshift side losing 4-0 at halftime, Banyana made their way to the venue but were initially denied access to the ground.

Banyana sent home by SAFA

South African football has been rocked by more drama, Sports Brief reported.

The South African Football Association sent the women’s national team home after they refused to play their send-off match ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The players threatened to boycott the game because of the condition of the pitch at the stadium, wanting a more suitable venue for their final fixture.
