FootballMost Expensive Players in Fantasy Premier League Unveiled, Erling Haaland Leads
- Erling Haaland will become the joint-most expensive Fantasy Premier League asset
- The Manchester City striker enjoyed a splendid season after moving from Borussia Dortmund
- More prices will be released later this week, with Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son suffering drops
Erling Haaland is set to become the most expensive Fantasy Premier League asset ever, as the first batch of prices were released on Monday afternoon.
The Manchester City striker had a blistering debut season in England, scoring 36 goals, making him a very prized player among the FPL owners.
He is now set to begin the season with a stunning price of 14m euros. No other player has ever cost more, though the Norwegian now moves level with Thierry Henry, Robin Van Persie, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have in the past cost similar figures.
In the list released periodically on the Premier League's website, Mohamed Salah dropped from 13m euros to 12.5m euros. The three-time Golden Boot winner scored 19 goals last season, despite Liverpool having a lacklustre season altogether.
Heung-min Son's price has also dropped from 12m euros to 9m euros after he registered a disappointing season. The South Korean won the Golden Boot in the 2021/2022 season.
Martin Odegaard and Bruno Fernandes will cost 8.5m euros each, while Chelsea's new boy, Christopher Nkunku will go for 7.5m euros.
More prices are expected to follow in the course of the week, with Harry Kane expected to rank highly as well. The Tottenham Hotspur striker's future remains uncertain, with Bayern Munich interested.

FootballBarcelona legend's Ballon d'Or favourites
Sports Brief earlier reported that Barcelona legend, Patrick Kluivert recently ruffled a few feathers when he conspicuously omitted Lionel Messi from his list of preferred winners of the 2023 Ballon d'Or award.
Messi is highly expected to challenge for his record-extending eighth title at this year's awards after guiding Argentina to a World Cup victory in Qatar last year.
However, Kluivert believes that three other players deserve the 2023 individual gong ahead of Barcelona's most decorated player of all time.
